Three guys came out of a back door with “you’re
coming with us.” I was leaving anyway.
I go to pay my check and get a knee to my back
leg. Down I go, one guy on each leg and one

I call the guy kneeling on my chest a moron.
An ambulance arrives, they check my ID, off to
the NYC Presbyterian Hospital across town.
I get out, go past blank faced security and exit
the hospital.
Weeks later my insurance is billed for a thousand
dollars. Laughable fraud is the least of it. Soon
after, I see one of the three guys working behind
a bakery counter in the Chelsea Market mall.
Which sounds stupidly impossible. Not. He
puts his two fists and elbows together when he
sees me. Imitating famous old photos of a
drugged up devil worshipping Alister Crowley.
